Good marketing or just being nice?

I broke my watch on the weekend. My Swiss Army watch with the white hands on the black background, that my feeble eyes can see easily day or night. It goes with me everywhere, even goes rowing with me. On the weekend, it got caught in clothing and the band tore off, and some of the metal fastenings just disintegrated.

Today, I took it to the watch booth on the ground floor at Greenbrier Mall. Anytime I have any watch needs, I take it there and they always manage to fix it. I strolled up, the guy was serving an indecisive woman and in between showing her more stuff, he fiddled with my watch. He put a new end piece on the band, and then used a new pin to attach it to the body. And while still talking to Mrs Indecisive, he handed it back to me. I pulled out my wallet, and he waved me away and said “No charge. Just tell people to come here for their watch needs.”

They’ve done this to me before, and I forget until the next time. But I always do recommend them. It is good marketing, but it is also just being nice. It put a smile on my face.

There are a few good ppl left in the world :)

Was listening to music and thought of you Henry. You need to check out Groove Shark, which knowing you, you already have. I need some guitar work done and I’m bummed that Paul is no longer available to help me out. He was a talent …I bet you guys miss him there at MAP.

Happy Holidays to you and your family
